TikTok Slideshow Checker
Find out whether your photos will post before you open TikTok. Drop the set in and the checker tests the photo count against TikTok's limit of 35, the size against 1080x1920, the file type and the file size, then tells you in plain words what to fix. One click turns every photo into a ready-to-post JPEG.
How to use it
- 1Pick where you're posting
Choose TikTok photo post (1080x1920) or Instagram carousel (1080x1350).
- 2Drop your photos
Add every photo in the order you'll post them. Nothing is uploaded; the check runs in your browser.
- 3Read the verdict
You get one line on whether the set will post, then the problems per photo: count, file type, file size, resolution and shape.
- 4Download the fixed copies
Crop to fill or fit with blurred edges, then download every photo as a 1080x1920 (or 1080x1350) JPEG and post those.
The limits it checks (as of October 2026)
| Photos per TikTok post | Up to 35 in the app and through the posting API |
|---|---|
| TikTok screen shape | 9:16 vertical, so 1080x1920 fills it |
| TikTok posting API files | JPEG or WebP, up to 1080p, up to 20 MB each |
| Items per Instagram carousel | Up to 20 photos and videos |
| Instagram photo shape | 1.91:1 (landscape) to 3:4 (portrait), otherwise cropped; one orientation for the whole carousel |
| Instagram photo width | Kept as is between 320 and 1080 px; larger photos are sized down to 1080 |

Questions
Why won't my TikTok slideshow post?
The photo-side causes are too many photos (TikTok allows up to 35 per post as of October 2026), a file your phone can't hand over cleanly (HEIC, very large files), or odd sizes. If the photos pass this check, the cause is on the app side: TikTok's own help suggests switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data, clearing the app cache, restarting the app and phone, and updating TikTok.
How many photos can a TikTok slideshow have?
Up to 35 photos per post, according to TikTok's Help Center as of October 2026. TikTok's Content Posting API has the same limit for photo posts.
What size should TikTok slideshow photos be?
1080x1920 pixels, a 9:16 vertical shape that fills the phone screen. Other shapes still post but leave empty space around the photo, and anything under 1080 pixels on the short side looks soft.
Which file types work?
TikTok's developer documentation lists JPEG and WebP for photo posts. Schedulers and posting tools that use the API need one of those. The fixed copies this tool downloads are JPEG.
Does it work for Instagram carousels?
Yes. Switch to Instagram carousel and it checks against Instagram's rules: up to 20 items, shapes between 1.91:1 and 3:4, and one orientation for the whole post. Fixed copies come out at 1080x1350 (4:5).
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Photos are read and resized by your browser and never sent to a server. That is also why the tool is free.
